Adding: This sweater is short, comes to barely the waist (next one will be longer, but this one WILL fit my daughter), it's sort of stretched out, it fits close to the body. The sleeves are inspired by Mary Weasley sweater of Harry Potter movies and are, of course, crocheted.

Hello everyone. I'd like to post a picture of my Molly Weasley sweater. Just finished it today. Sewed on the last lampwork button - not wonderful buttons, but the best I could do. The button holes were very small. Be kind, this is the 3rd try at a Weasley sweater, and the first knitting I've done in a very very very long time.

oh, I don't know how to post pics. I'll post links.

Hello, Nancy, I'm a LE beadmaker, but I also knit and crochet. I'm just finishing up a sweater that I'm very proud of and will probably get pictures taken either today or tomorrow as I promised my daughter I'd mail it on Wednesday. It's for her.

If you are familiar with Harry Potter, and who isn't, this is a Mary Weasley sweater from one of the HP movies and it's the third one I've tried making. I used a knitted vest pattern and then crocheted the sleeves. I made glass button, of course. :)

I'd love to talk about knitting, but don't know a soul that knits, except the lady at the one decent knitting store we have in Fort Worth. Splynda

 Family vacation, what to pack?
« Result #4 on Jul 19, 2007, 6:25pm »

I've got a pair of socks that are almost done. Each of those socks will need to go. Then I'll have empty needles so probably replacement yarn.

I have two other pairs of socks at different stages. I'll probably take them. But I'm wondering if I should take something other than socks. For variety maybe?

I'll try to post what I finish when we are back on Monday. :)

 Favorite sock pattern?
« Result #5 on Jul 19, 2007, 5:49pm »

I'm into plain patterns with brightly colored yarn. So far my favorite pattern is one by Plymouth Yarn for their Sockotta yarn. I've used it with several yarns. For baby socks I use one written for Cherry Tree Hill Yarn that I found online.

I'm ready to try another pattern and don't know which one to try. Any suggestions?

My list currently includes Lorna's Laces Shepherd Yarn, Tiny Toes, Wildfoote, and two others that are harder for me to remember the name of. One of which is my very favorite. I like the way it stitches up. It used to be available at a store in Fort Wayne, Indiana which I believe has closed. It is available in Valpo so it will be my vacation yarn. :)

Classes will be scheduled again this year through Wawasee High School Community Ed and Freedom Academy. I expect to be teaching in Syracuse, Kendallville, and Columbia City. Possibly a couple other locations. As always you can check for flyers delivered in your area, call or e-mail for details.

 Favorite sock yarn anyone?

I'm interested in your favorite sock yarn. Hopefully one that is still on the market. I'm into bold bright colors.

 New classes are being scheduled
« Result #9 on Jun 1, 2007, 11:10am »

Various people have asked when I will be teaching again. I'm in the process of scheduling new classes. Probably beginning stained glass, mosaics, maybe a Nativity class. Is there anything you would like to see offered?

You can e-mail me if you'd prefer. Or if you've got my number you can call. I'd love your input.

Aimee,
I decided I had to get it to something managable or my husband might faint. I managed to get down to two pairs of socks on needles and the toddler sweater at the moment. I'm just not that excited about the sweater. I am hoping to find some fabulous sock yarn and start more. Guess I'm not really making progress at all.
